WordPress makes it very easy to switch themes without affecting the data.A theme is like fancy widow dressing around your blog.  Post, pages, categories, and widgets don’t change, only the window dressing changes.  WordPress is especially fun around major holidays when you can switch from summer to fall to Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas, and so on.

Blogging is not just a form of self-communication, it’s also an excellent way to make money online. If you’re new to blogging and yet want to start quickly, there are several business models you can try for maximum results in a short time. This article discussed the three most popular methods.

The first method is paid blog posting. Create your first blog and start adding some decent article to it. Then you signup with paid blogging networks like Pay Per Post or Review Me and see what “opportunities” are available. These networks are filled with advertisers looking for blogger who can help them spread the word, and they are willing to pay. Accept the opportunity, write about it on your blog, and you get paid.

The second method is WordPress blogs for AdSense and it requires a little more technical know-how. You need to build a WordPress blog on a specific niche topic, and start writing some good content on it. Then, find relevant blogs and leave comments on those blogs to get links back to your own blog. The objective is to get more traffic who will click on your AdSense ads and make you money.

Each post you write must pre-sell the web visitor and convince him to click on your affiliate links. When the visitor makes a purchase online after that, you get credited for the sale and earn commissions.

Ultimately, which model you choose depends on how much time and resources you can dedicate to creating and managing your blogs. If you’re new, you should choose a low-investment model and compensate by spendingmore time on it. When you get the hang of it, you can venture into other blogging models as well.

It was a few years ago that I first decided to create a blog to learn how to how to make money from home using websites. Back then, I use the blog mainly to keep up with friends. There is a good reason that Wordpress is so popular for online content management - it is easy to use and can be accessed from anywhere.

About me

Below I will show you a really cool trick I just learned from a Gem of a manuscript containing all kinds of hidden WordPress  back door secrets.

I have been a blogger,  learning about blogging and of course learning WordPress for several years. I am in front of a computer so much that I have been known to take my shirt off for an hour or two so that I can take advantage of my monitors radiation to work on my tan.

Yes, I admit it, I am  a computer, internet junkie. I truly love to make money on the internet. I am so happy to be able to work from home, working my own hours, doing what I want to do whenever I want to do it.

Let’s face it we all want freedom but we all know that freedom takes money. The more money you have the more freedom you have, period. To illustrate this point here is a saying from my dear old Dad. "Son, life is like a poop sandwich (not his exact words), the more bread you've got the less poop you've got to eat".   Wise words Dad, thanks.

Well, we also all know there’s a ton of money to be made on the internet, but the 64 thousand dollar question that eludes most people is, HOW? How in the world do you go out and get your piece of that mega Billion dollar pie?

If you have been undecided about a blog, it’s time to get off the fence, install your WordPress blog, and start blogging.  Recent upgrades to the WordPress platform have made it super easy to install a beautiful blog and tweak it to your heart’s content.

INSTALLING A BLOG

The fist thing you’ll want to do is to go to your site’s control panel, click the Fantastico icon, and let your server set up and install your blog.  Once the blog has been installed, you will want to go into your administrative panel, which is called a dashboard.  The dashboard enables you to easily update the blog software, add plugins, and change the look of your blog.  This is also where you add content in the form of new articles and posts.

UPDATING THE BLOG SOFTWARE

Recent updates to the blogging software have allowed you to update the software with just a click within your dashboard, and also to search, review and install plugins directly from the administrative dashboard.  Plugins enhance your blog’s capabilities.

HOW TO WORK WITH BLOG THEMES

The plugin installation capability has been expanded to include themes in the June 2009 WordPress update.  The new WordPress Version 2.8 offers an outstanding and super easy to use theme feature that is similar to the plugin feature.  You simply specify the type of theme that you want; for instance, a 2 column blue and gold theme, click search and then preview the free themes that are available.  Select the theme that you like and WordPress will install it right from your dashboard.  The days of unzipping and then FTP’ing your theme to your site are over and you’ll save a heck of a lot of time.

Once your theme is installed, you can edit the php pages if you want.  The process is much easier with WordPress’ new color-coded theme editor.  The code display in the new WordPress platform is now numbered and colored, making editing your PHP and stylesheet pages much, much easier.

There are some awesome free themes available, including the magazine style themes that look like a professional publication. If you use these types of themes, you will be working with a plugin called Timthumb that will display your images as thumbnails on the front page and display larger versions within the blog post.  It is easy to work with this, but sometimes the documentation that comes with the WordPress theme provider is not very good.  At Not Guru, you can find a step-by-step tutorial, replete with screen shots, which show you how to work with magazine style WordPress themes.
